Sheharyar Nasir

Biography

Sheharyar Nasir is a Ph.D. student in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Kansas. After earning his bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, he joined the aerospace industry and spent five years at Pakistan’s National Aerospace Science & Technology Park (NASTP), where he led projects in aerodynamic analysis, optimization, and data-driven modeling for aerospace systems. In August 2023, Sheharyar joined the Computational AeroPropulsion Laboratory (CAPL), where his research focuses on developing high-fidelity reduced-order models for turbulent, reacting flows in complex propulsion systems. By integrating physics-based methods with advanced AI techniques, he aims to create models capable of delivering rapid, accurate predictions at a fraction of the computational cost. Outside of research, Sheharyar enjoys cooking, reading, and listening to music.
